The Hunger Games novel by Suzanne Collinsyang was launched on 14 September 2008 in America (in October 2009 in Indonesia by Scholastic Press) and a Best Seller books there.

The Hunger Games takes place in the future when North America was destroyed and formed a new area called Panem. Panem is a region consisting of 12 poor districts and the government led by a rich but greedy and ruthless, the Capitol.

Each year, the Capitol held a festive event that dinamakanHunger Games. Hunger Games is a game that was carried by the Capitol to remind the residents of the district that no one can defeat the rebels and the Capitol.

Each district will sacrifice two children (male and female) aged 12-18 years and will be brought to the Capitol to be trained, and finally placed in an arena that forces them to kill each other. The last participant survives, it will be the winner, and he and his district will get a supply of food for a year.

The Hunger Games Science Fiction genre and put the first point of view, the point of view of the main character, Katniss Everdeen. Readers will be taken directly into the mind and emotions Katniss when he took his experience to be one district resident elected to the participants of The Hunger Games.

What is interesting in the book The Hunger Games This is how the authors were able to incorporate many aspects of life, such as social, political, humanitarian, and economic character into fiction that most teenagers.
